CONGRATULATIONS! Northern Healthcare’s new service ‘Garth Lodge’ has been awarded accreditation from the BUILD Architecture Awards 2019, winning the “Most Anticipated Residential Healthcare Development Project”.
Garth Lodge commenced in April 2019 and has been the first new build from Northern Healthcare. The service has been specifically designed with the requirements of the residents and staff at the forefront of our minds – providing a homely environment for 18 residents. The building is single-storey and constructed from materials to compliment the vernacular of the area. All rooms have been designed with large windows to provide an abundance of natural light and beautiful garden views.
The 1.2-acre site, located in the heart of Workington community is only a 15-minute walk away from the seashore, along with local accessible amenities for all residents.
Now celebrating its fifth year, the BUILD awards returned to recognise the amazing work conducted by designers, engineers and architects alike, whose architectural designs and work have shown great success. Focusing on an array of disciplines, these Architecture Awards strive to recognise and pay tribute to all the successes throughout the architectural industry.
The BUILD nomination approach includes the research and gathering of their selected nominees, where they then go to formally evaluate each organisation and/or project. Once each category is judged and awarded – the details of all award winners are then announced publicly via the BUILD website and award winners’ magazine.
Established in 2013 with the opening of our facility in Cumbria, Northern Healthcare are now on track to expand its operations throughout the UK – with Garth Lodge being the most recent success. Our services include a responsive forward-facing service, providing flexible tenancy arrangements with 24-hour support.
