Our supported living services are full of activities with a busy calendar of group cooking classes, exercise, health and nutrition workshops, 1-2-1 time and occupational therapy to suit everyone’s needs and help our residents to reach their recovery goals.

Footie Madness

One of our residents enjoyed watching Liverpool FC play and win against SV Darmstadt 98. She even got a picture in front of the Liverpool coach!

Our residents have been flexing their vocal cords by having a karaoke session! Spoken in true talent show fashion, the residents all remarked: ‘I didn’t like it, I loved it!’.

Healthy Breakfast Morning

Residents enjoyed a lovely breakfast morning with healthy choices such as organic porridge oats, natural yoghurt and a selection of fruit! 🍓

Getting Into The Christmas Spirit

Our Holland House residents are already getting into the Christmas spirit! Our team supported residents on a visit to Barton Grange to see the Christmas display 🎅

The first weekend of December saw our Holland House residents getting creative and designing their very own Christmas baubles, before enjoying a trip to the Manchester Christmas markets over the weekend!

As Christmas is getting closer, residents enjoyed an afternoon of festive baking, preparing some mince pies and gingerbread houses. Later in the week, our residents enjoyed a Christmas crafting afternoon creating cute little snowman decorations ☃️

The last week before Christmas saw residents and team members head out for their annual Christmas meal – a fun afternoon was enjoyed by all.

Following on from Christmas celebrations residents and team members enjoyed a delicious Boxing Day buffet.

Happy Halloween!

Holland House visited Paul’s Pumpkin Patch Farm in Leyland! The team and residents had a lovely day with a tractor ride to the farm to choose their pumpkins, followed by a visit to the Haunted Hayloft and Spooky Shop.

World Mental Health Day 2022

On World Mental Health Day Holland House residents attended a community event in Preston. The day started with breakfast group, followed by a trip to Preston Market and a visit to the Wellness Fair.

Leafy Autumn Wildlife

Our residents at Holland House have embraced the change in season and have been getting creative with the fallen leaves collected from the garden 🍂 How cute are these?

Blackberry Crumble

One of our residents at Holland House visited the local park to pick some blackberries, and made a blackberry crumble for all residents to enjoy after dinner!

Afternoon Tea Week Celebrations

Last week, residents from across our services celebrated Afternoon Tea Week by hosting their own tea parties – at Holland House our residents enjoyed a garden tea party.

Heatwave Activities

During the exceptionally hot start to the week, Holland House residents made smoothie ice lollies, had a BBQ, enjoyed games of badminton in the garden, and visited the park for ice cream. The team also created a sun safety board for the residents to ensure everyone remained safe in the sun!

Mindfulness, Ice Cream, and Spanish Cuisine

Our Holland House residents enjoyed some mindful colouring on the park, soaking up the sun! This was followed by an ice cream to cool down, before they headed back to the service for a Spanish themed evening for their weekly themed cuisine night!

Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Residents at Holland House enjoyed a delicious buffet to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Over the weekend some of our residents also took a trip out to Blackpool Sandcastle waterpark!

Friday Fakeaway

Our Holland House residents kicked off their weekend with a homemade “fake-away” and quiz night!

Tackling Loneliness

Residents at Holland House marked #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek by sharing some advice on what helps them to tackle loneliness and enjoying a walk around Brockholes Nature Reserve. Residents also enjoyed a trip to the park to make the most of the gorgeous sunshine at the weekend.

Easter Traditions

Our Holland House residents decorated the service and enjoyed lots of activities over the Easter weekend, including the annual tradition of egg rolling in the local park!

After being cancelled for the past two years due to Covid restrictions, the annual Preston tradition returned this year. Each year, the egg rolling event sees hundreds of people rolling chocolate eggs down the steep hill on Avenham Park, every hour on the hour.

Posh Picnic

Our team and residents at Holland House organised a picnic at Avenham park this weekend to make the most of the lovely weather! Our residents prepared their own packed lunches to take along with them, including sushi!

A spot of gardening

Our Holland House residents have been planting herbs and vegetables this weekend in their new greenhouse! We’re looking forward to watching them grow 🌿

Merry Christmas!
Holland House residents had a brilliant time at their Christmas Party! There was a huge selection of Christmas food, dancing and even a Christmas themed photo station! 🎅

Halloween activities are underway!

Halloween activities are underway as residents from Holland House have been putting up their spooky decorations and making delicious toffee apples! 🍬🍎

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Holland House held a coffee morning for Macmillan at the end of September. Look at that delicious spread of sandwiches, cakes and treats! A lovely morning was had by all – what a great way to support a great cause!

Holland House prepares for Autumn

Residents and staff at Holland House have been getting ready to embrace Autumn by creating a beautiful Autumn Activity display. In preparation for World Mental Health Day on 10th October, staff have also put together a Managing Mental Health display with some help from the residents.

To finish off the day, residents tucked into a delicious Mexican themed tea – yum!

Breakfast, Baking and Bowling!

During August, Holland House were super busy with breakfast group, bowling trips and baking group, where residents enjoyed baking banana bread and other sweet treats. Sounds delicious!
