Life at Hyde Park House

Our supported living services are full of activities with a busy calendar of group cooking classes, exercise, health and nutrition workshops, 1-2-1 time and occupational therapy to suit everyone’s needs and help our residents to reach their recovery goals. Here are just some of the highlights from life at Hyde Park House:

Keeping the Community Clean | April 2021

Three residents from Hyde Park House volunteered at a local community project to celebrate Earth Day 2021. The local community of Eastmoor, Wakefield got together to do some litter picking & tidy up the local area. Well done team! Julia Cygan Community Support Worker at Eastmoor Community Project Limited sent her thanks to the team: “We would like to say a big thank you for taking part in Eastmoor Litter Walk on last Thursday. In total an amazing 31 bags of rubbish were collected. It was very successful event and we believe everyone enjoyed it.”

An Easter Sunday Egg Hunt at Hyde Park! | April 2021

Residents from Hyde Park celebrated Easter Sunday with an egg hunt following clues to mini chocolates and receiving their grand prize – a chocolate bunny – at the end. What better way to finish off the day than with a Sunday dinner?

#RealLove in the Community this Valentine’s Day | February 2021

A local church to Hyde Park House, St Catherine’s, gave these beautiful hearts to our staff & residents to bring some joy around Valentine’s Day. The hearts are part of a community project called #reallove to spread joy & love to local people. Thank you for thinking of us!

Pumpkin Picking | October 2020

Residents at Hyde Park House recently spent a lovely afternoon #pumpkin picking at a local farm in preparation for Halloween. Afterwards they warmed up with a coffee from the farm shop and swapped carving ideas – we can’t wait to see the results!

A Seaside visit to Sunny Scarborough | September 2020

Residents & team members from Hyde Park House enjoyed a sunny trip to Scarborough this September! After a wander along the beach with a quick stop to ride the Ferris wheel, residents tucked into a beach day classic – fish and chips followed by ice cream!

One of our residents ‘JD’ commented: “I’ve absolutely loved it today, it brought back memories of when I was younger and used to go with my Grandad. It was the best day I’ve ever had. I’m now in the best mood ever.”
