Tenby House in Cumbria is an enhanced 24/7 supported living service providing specialist care for adults with a primary mental health diagnosis. The service also supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and associated conditions.
Once home to the hairy bikers, Tenby House offers individuals a homely environment to live in and is located in a historic part of Barrow-In-Furness. The Edwardian building offers a spacious shared kitchen and lovely lounge area for all to enjoy.
Located close to the centre of Barrow, there is easy access to shops, local amenities and public transport.

Our specialist clinical nursing team work alongside highly skilled and compassionate support teams to enable us to provide responsive and individualised care and support.
The team provide 24/7 support for people with a variety of mental health conditions. The people we support come to us from a number of different pathways; they may require greater ‘step-down’ support following a period in an acute hospital or forensic service. Our experienced team help the people we support to achieve their next steps, from tasks such as cooking and budgeting to longer-term goals such as gaining employment.

There are a number of areas in which the people we support can socialise, we have a beautiful large kitchen, a lounge area and an activities area. In the summer we often make use of the outdoor space. Our beautiful private garden is often used for gardening and other activities.
Staff knew people well and recognised the value of person-centred care. This meant people’s support was individual and personalised to their needs and preferences. Staff supported people to engage in a range of activities including holidays, paid and voluntary work, socialising, and accessing community activities. (CQC Report 2024)
