What’s life like at Beck House?

A key part of life at Beck House is staying connected with the community. Individuals are supported to go out for food shopping, where they can help choose ingredients, manage money, and plan meals. We also organise trips to places of interest such as parks, cafés, local attractions, and community spaces. These outings encourage social interaction, enjoyment, and exploration of the local area.

Staff provide support for individuals to attend appointments and meetings when needed. This may include healthcare appointments, community services, or personal meetings that are important for their wellbeing and independence.

Gardening is one of many popular activities at Beck House. Individuals can help with planting flowers, watering plants, and maintaining the garden. Gardening supports wellbeing, provides fresh air, and helps individuals learn practical outdoor skills. Beck House also has a dedicated games room where individuals can relax and have fun. Activities include playing pool and table tennis, which encourage social interaction, friendly competition, and physical activity.

We also hold People We Support meetings, where individuals can share their thoughts, make suggestions, and have a say in decisions about the home, activities, and daily life at Beck House.
