Supported Living Rochdale

Northern Healthcare’s clinically informed model promotes stability, recovery, and increased independence within a structured and therapeutic environment. Our specialist clinical nursing team work alongside highly skilled and compassionate support teams to enable us to provide responsive and individualised care and support.

The team provide 24/7 support for people with a variety of mental health conditions. The people we support come to us from several different pathways; they may require greater ‘step-down’ support following a period in an acute hospital or forensic service. Our experienced team help the people we support to achieve their next steps, from tasks such as cooking and budgeting to longer-term goals such as gaining employment.

Referral Criteria

  • Male and female adults, aged 18+ who are willing to engage in recovery and social inclusion.
  • Can be on section 17, forensic MHA section or extended leave if approved by MOJ.
  • On admission, and if applicable, individuals must be stable on their current medication and medically fit.
  • We can support people with a diagnosed mental illness, mild learning disability or autistic spectrum disorder.

Further criteria are dependent on the Northern Healthcare Pathway. Please contact our referral team for more information.

What’s life like at Moss Lodge?

Life at Moss Lodge is active and varied, with regular in-house activities such as crafts, bingo, quizzes, and creative sessions to encourage confidence and new interests. Daily routines include appointments, shopping trips, and community-based tasks that help build independence and practical life skills.

We provide support with room organisation when needed and encourage everyone to personalise their space so it feels comfortable and their own. Each team member works closely with allocated individuals, following personalised plans and holding daily 1:1 sessions to review wellbeing and progress.

We’re proud of the achievements here, including individuals who now drive their own cars and others who have moved into employment. A new relaxation and pamper space, shaped by feedback from the people we support and staff, is also being developed to support wellbeing and self-care.

Staff supported people to engage in a range of activities including holidays, paid and voluntary work, socialising, and accessing community activities. (CQC Report 2024)
